General Information: Larry Angel Email: langel@uw.edu or langel@sccd.ctc.edu General Information about ECON&202, ONLINE We will be using the ANGEL platform. I usually open up my class 10 days before the quarter officially begins. You can contact me at either langel@uw.edu or langel@sccd.ctc.edu. Personally, I prefer the UW email account because it has better storing features than my South email. As far as the textbook, we will be using Principles of Macroeconomics by Mankiw, 6th Edition, but you can use the 5th Edition. If you use the 5th edition, it will obviously save you some $$$ and it's a reasonable substitute for the class. Macroeconomic Textbooks: There are three exams and six quizzes over the quarter. Quizzes will be administered online, but understand that ALL exams must be proctored. For the exams, 95% of all students use the proctoring center here at South Seattle CC. If you want to use a personal proctor, you need to understand my rules are a little more stringent than other instructors. You can't use a friend, significant other, parent, supervisor or anyone who has a conflict of interest. In most cases, students will just use another instructor. If so, you need to send me their email, phone number and some sort of verification. For example, if someone wanted me as a proctor, I would simply forward my website to the instructor or give them my business card. I need ample time to verify your proctor and I do reserve to right to say "No" enough though another instructor may have approved your proctor for another class. Their approval has NOTHING to do with my decision. If I can't get a proper verification in a timely manner, you will have to take ALL exams at South Seattle CC's proctoring center. I hope all this information has been helpful and if you have any questions, please let me know. |
